My name is Anna Aspenson I am a Public Health student at American University with a passion for sustainable food system advocacy. Currently, the price and accessibility of food in the United States does not support the health or wellbeing of our nation. I believe food should be delicious, fresh, affordable, and ethically sourced. Its not as tough as we make it seem. This past summer I worked in Durham, North Carolina with the Durham Network for Agriculture to research and begin writing a food strategy for the city. I learned how a little bit of coordination and innovation can go a long way. Local, sustainable food has the power to transform any community to be self-sustaining, healthy, and green.
